2021 Kia Carnival Pricing

January 4, 2021
SHARE:

The bus is back but will everyone be running?  The 2021 Kia Carnival is not far off now, however, today is all about the pricing.

The Chosen One

The Kia Carnival was tarnished very early on back in 1998. It was the butt of many a joke, perhaps well placed due to ordinary craftsmanship.  Nevertheless, gradually the people mover became more popular after Hyundai lifted standards.

The brand now basically has a monopoly happening. There’s really no other affordable alternative if you want 8-seats, massive cargo space, and sliding doors.

Sure, there are stacks of vans around, but they all still drive like a commercial vehicle because that’s what they are. A prime example of this is the 8-seat Toyota Granvia. The Carnival drives like a van; it is truly the chosen one.

Value for money

The familiar S, Si, SLi and Platinum models remain, with petrol and diesel engines on offer.

The following prices are listed as drive-away pricing.

  • S Petrol Auto – $50,390
  • Si Petrol Auto – $55,790
  • SLi Petrol Auto – $60,290
  • Platinum Petrol Auto – $67,990
  • S Diesel Auto – $52,390
  • Si Diesel Auto – $57,790
  • SLi Diesel Auto – $62,290
  • Platinum Diesel – $69,990

Performance

The 3.5-litre GDI V6 petrol produces 216kW and 355Nm. While a 2.2-litre diesel is capable of 148kW and 440Nm. Power is sent to the front-wheels via Kia’s own 8-speed automatic.

Hold That Thought

The new Kia will officially launch tomorrow, but you’ll need to wait until January 8 before any opinions on how it actually drives.

I’ll keep you posted.
