Performance
The 2.3 litre intercooled twin turbo-diesel remains the same with 140kW/450Nm.
“We packaged the new model with a full set of advanced technologies to ensure enhanced dynamic performance on- and off-road, as well as safety and comfort ushering in a new age of toughness, tech, and peace of mind,” said Ashwani Gupta, Nissan’s Chief Operating Officer. “For our customers it means confidence, driving pleasure, practicality and pride of ownership.”
New Tough Variants
A new variant called the “PRO-4” will be the new hero ute, with eye-catching war zone type add ons. It scores a black Nissan emblem, black front bumper, grille, door handles, roof racks and sidesteps.
Even the 17-inch black wheels are black.
There’s also a PRO-4X that adds lively, red accents, a tint inspired by the colour of magma, contrasted with the dark grille, wheels, and mirror caps.
Comfort and Technology
There’s a new steering wheel and clearer instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT screen and 8-inch infotainment touch screen.
A raft of safety upgrades have been deployed via Intelligent Forward Collision Warning. This system can monitor two cars ahead and one behind. Other highlights include Lane Departure Warning that will intervene if you fail to stay in your lane.
Blind Spot Warning will jump in and save the day at the last second, if you fail to see the road train next to you. An Around View Monitor uses four cameras to identify people and cars you may miss.
A new off-road monitor allows off-roaders the ability to see how deep that rut is or isn’t. Plus a bit of future proofing is going on via a USB Port (Type C) in the console.
There will be more details and pricing closer to launch.
